Glacier trail to the Pasterze

The glacier trail, which leads to the Pasterze - the largest glacier in the Eastern Alps - is an exciting high mountain hike.

On this guided hike with a national park ranger, you will learn about the development of the glacier over the past centuries, recognise the changes in the landscape due to the retreat of the glacier and get to know the plants of the glacier foreland.

From 20 June to 5 September 2024, this medium-difficulty hike in high alpine terrain takes place every Thursday.

Meeting point: 10:30 am, Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe visitor centre, Grossglockner High Alpine Road
Equipment: sturdy footwear, warm, weatherproof clothing and a rucksack with a drink and snack, possibly hiking poles
Duration: approx. 5 hours, including 3 hours of walking
Also suitable for children aged 10 and over

From 11 July to 5 September, the tour will also take place exclusively in English if required.
